Lake Ribnica

Lake Ribnica was created by damming the river Crni Rzav. This lake is located at 968 m above sea level on the beautiful Mount Zlatibor (1490 m). Lake Ribnicko is 2 km long and 30 m deep. The water is clean and drinkable as the lake was built as a water reservoir for the Zlatibor area.

Shores of the lake are covered with pine forests and vast meadows on a hilly landscape. The lake water is dark brown to reddish due to the specific type of stone which covers the bottom. The lake is rich with fish characteristic for pure mountain water. Lake Ribnica is especially known for its brown trout, catfish, chubs and capital specimens of pike perch and asps. Fly-fishing and spin fishing are recommended for this lake.
